Nearly 30 years ago, Amy Grant’s music began embracing fans with a heartfelt singer-songwriter style mixing elements of pop, folk and country. This year she’ll be joining Patsy Clairmont, Marilyn Meberg, Sandi Patty, Lisa Whelchel, Andy Andrews, Mandisa, and more at multiple Over the Top events. We’re thrilled to welcome this multi-award-winning Christian music pioneer back to the Women of Faith stage. Amy Grant to Join Over the Top Tour

I think Amy Grant may have had a long time in coming back to being accepted by Christiansdue to the end of her first marriage and remarrying rather quickly (Vince Gill) – not that one cannot remarry quickly. But, Focus On The Family wrote about it, and it made one pause and give consideration as what she had done. We don’t know all the facts, nor should we, as that was between her and her husband, Gary. I would think that if the Women of Faith have welcomed her, then we should trust in their wisdom and welcome her also.
I do have reservations about having Amy Grant as part of the Women of Faith and what the Bible says about remarriage. I am divorced. My husband committed adultery. Even so, I felt that the message of the Bible was that it was not right in God’s eyes for me to remarry.
I am very happy to see Amy join the WOF team!
I understand how you feel, but remember no matter what transpired in her marriage, God has forgiven, and we are to forgive as well. We never know what has happened behind closed doors. I trust Women of Faith in their judgement, and look forward to seeing Amy at Over the Top.
It’s a shame that the Over the Top tour is only on the west side of the country-nothing in Fla-only the Imagine tour-therefore I can’t see Amy Grant-I’ave enjoyed her music for years, and would love to see her perform, but not in FL.
I think it’s fantastic that Amy will be joining Women of Faith. NO ONE has the right to judge her for what occurred in her personal life. We are to leave the judging to God. He clearly says “judge not, least ye be judged” and he has commanded us to “love one another” Thank God she’s using her beautiful talent to glorify His name. I’m excited! Thank you Women of Faith for inviting her to be a part of a fantastic team!!!
Dani and Colleen’s comments are disappointing. What would Jesus do? In trying to be like him, I will welcome Amy to the tour with open arms. God is sending her to us to share her voice in song and stories so that we may learn from her vast experiences and be inspired by the glory that God gives her. God is not sending her to us for our judgement or question. Welcome, Amy! I can hardly wait to see you on tour.
I don’t feel it’s right for any one of us to judge Amy Grant in regards to her divorce and remarriage. This is the LORD’S domain and he hasn’t asked any of us for help in this matter.
“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Matthew 7:1-2
I love Amy and can tell by her music and lyrics that she loves God. He has blessed her with a beautiful voice and she glorifies and honors Him by using it for us! I’m just sorry that I saw Over the Top in Hartford in November and will not have an opportunity to see Amy at the Imagine tour this coming November. Maybe she’ll agree to stay for next year’s Hartford event???
Divorce is a horrible circumstance for all who have experienced it for whatever reason(s) and circumstances encountered. Our God despises divorce, because He knows the pain of it Himself from Israel and every believing heart that has yet to understand and know the certainty of His perfect love; for whatever reasons that are existent in their lives. Still He never leaves or forsakes us; His chosen, beloved ones; because of His vows to us, He always (always) desires to restore His broken, repentant people.
In this world, it doesn’t take long to recognize in ourselves and in men, that there is no man/woman who loves perfectly; except Christ Himself. His desire is always our best good, and the beauty that He meant us to know in matrimony. This is why He desires that we as individuals (first) pursue Him with all of our hearts, souls and minds… Maybe then, we might be better at recognizing His desires for us and understanding them more readily.
Still all of our relationships, in Christ are forever in maturing phases in this life… Celebrate with all of your hearts if you have known the permanency of matrimony as our God so desired… but please learn to weep with those who have not and the horror of brokenness that comes from it. I believe that Jesus Christ weeps with all who known this tragedy as childhood participants, adults, etc… There are so many unforeseen forces against marriages today; especially those that began in Christ.
However, every scarred, broken person is still beautiful in His sight… He just desires our hearts, that He might minister His healing to every broken place. Ultimately He is the bridegroom that He meant for us to know better, through His gift of marriage in the first place! So trust Him with all of the pieces of your brokenness too; whatever they might be. He is perfectly able to show you and me, the areas that He so desires to be first place in.
Also, in regards to Amy, her book Mosaic does share some of God’s faithful love; in spite of what her circumstances are or were.
So thankful for His forever love…
I can honestly say that if I had stayed married the first two times in my life, I would not be able to write a comment today. Simply because Amy is divorced is no reason to say that she has sinned more than anyone of the rest of us. I know that I fall short of the glory every day that I wake up and put my feet on the floor. That’s why we have a loving Savior to show us forgiveness and how to forgive. Welcome to Women of Faith Amy and may God bless all of your endeavors with this wonderful team!
I’m disappointed too to miss Amy Grant! I attended Over the Top in Philly already this year. Will she be at All Access?
I posted a couple of video’s of Amy Grant on this comments section, they were removed by WOF. Maybe if I just refer to them this post can stay.
Has anyone watched “That’s What Love is For” video with her in a red robe with hexagon’s on her hands? And has anyone watched her walk of fame star acceptance speach about 7 min in?
Decide for yourself. We are to be “fruit inspectors”.
let us rejoice with her as she has overcome through christ jesus, and that she is able to recieve what god is giving her now, and doing through her to minister to others. we should not expect her to live in guilt and shame over things we really know nothing about. God doesn’t. God is all about forgiveness and mercy and grace, not guilt, condemnation, or shame. let us not be the ones to cast stones….but rather praise god for what He is able to do in any situation
This is my first time go to see at here and i am truly impressed to read all at alone place.
