She Said, He Says

She said . . .

I confess that I don’t feel very lovable. I don’t have many close friends; I haven’t yet found that one person to share my life with.

I want love—no, I need love. I have looked everywhere for love, and I have learned the hard way that I will really only find true love in You.

When I think about it, it’s almost too much to take in. You love me! Me with all of my failings. Me with all of my flaws. Unlovely, unlovable me. How can that be? You are the God of the universe. You are the Creator and Sustainer of all things. You are the Holy One. And yet you reach down to take my hand and guide me. You draw me close. You wrap me in your everlasting arms.

This is beyond my comprehension, but I know that I don’t need to understand—I merely need to accept, to love in return, and to glorify you in how I live.

I am not unlovable, dear Savior, because You have loved me.

He says . . .

Nothing can separate you from My Love. Let this divine assurance trickle through your mind and into your heart and soul. Whenever you start to feel fearful or anxious, repeat this unconditional promise: “Nothing can separate me from Your Love, Jesus.”

Most of mankind’s misery stems from feeling unloved. In the midst of adverse circumstances, people tend to feel that love has been withdrawn and they have been forsaken. This feeling of abandonment is often worse than the adversity itself. Be assured that I never abandon any of My children, not even temporarily. I will never leave you or forsake you! My Presence watches over you continually. I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.

"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Thank you. I’ve been having a pity party lately because of a job change, I now work in a 2-person office. I’m single and live alone and don’t have very many friends. Thank you for reminding me that I am loved.

I know God loves me but like everyone else,I need to be reminded. It is very nice to be reminded because I feel like I have to look for his love when I am at work,I have a terrible boss who talks about my performance with my fellow employees and never comes to me to discuss my faults. It is a very bad situation because there is noone over his head because he is the owner. Good to know that God is there with me and I hope God can help guide my boss to have a nicer heart.

Thank you for this great reminder. I read this scripture at my mother’s memorial service. Today, I needed this reminder and God provided it. God is so good.

  10. Sometimes life makes us forget the promises God made to us. The bible and encouraging friends like you, bring us back on the right path from which we have strayed.
