2012 Writing Contest

2012 Writting ContestThis Year’s Winner Could be You

Last year Amy Sorrells heard about the 2011 Writing Contest at a Women of Faith event and decided to send in her manuscript. Her story not only won the contest, it was promptly signed by publisher David C. Cook. (It’s currently scheduled for publication in late 2013/early 2014.) In the video below Amy tells the story behind her book—and what it was like to get the call telling her she’d won.

The 2012 Women of Faith Writing Contest is now accepting entries!

Unpublished manuscripts of full-length fiction or nonfiction in any genre are welcome as entries. Entry is free and the submission period begins Oct. 15, 2012. The deadline to submit an entry for the contest is 11:59 p.m. EST on Jan. 31, 2013.

Wow! Thank you for sharing your story! I facilitate a women’s Christ centered 12 step group called Celebrate Recovery in my hometown of Corpus Christi, TX and I will recommend your book to women in our group who would benefit from it. I would love to read it myself! God bless you! You are such an inspiration to me! I am an RN as well.
God put it on my heart to finish writing what I started on back in 2004 when my baby died. When I attended Women of Faith this fall, I reaccepted the call. Now I found out about this writing opportunity! I better get busy! May God bless all of you who have a message to write!

I just attended my first Women of Faith in Denver, CO, and I immediatly signed up to recieve e-mail. Amy yours is the first video I have watched, I cannot believe the similarities in our lifes.
I too am an RN, and I am too a victim of incest from ~5 to age 16 by my father, my older brother had sexually molested me when I was in 5th grade.
I experience the brokeness you speak about…..so much is behind that brokeness, Jesus has set me free.
After watching your video….and listening to your advice on writing a book/novel….it was like “okay I hear you Lord” He has placed calling in my life.
    God Bless you

No novellas yet, just blogs and entries on Facebook and for my own personal thoughts and reflections … hopefully for my children to one day find and re-read as a remembrance piece of my soul. However, what a beautiful extension to those with time to use their creative minds and the grace of the Holy Spirit. I pray you offer the submissions for us to enjoy in some format. Thank you again for this opportunity. Blessed be. ~Tami

JUST the inspiration I needed to make the urgency of my hearts cry be heard for the purpose of the Gospel! For two to three years now I have been aching to write my story and place it in the hands of someone who desperately needs to see God’s grace. Looks like its time to gather my disheveled thoughts and make it happen. O I can taste the freedom already of getting it down on paper. God is good!
