The Christmas season comes and goes so fast—one minute you’re eating Thanksgiving dinner, the next you’re boxing up the tree. But the peace we have with God isn’t just a feeling that will pass in time. Our peace comes from living with God, and Him living in us, all year round. Because Christ came and died to forgive our sins, we get to have a one-on-one relationship with Him. He equips us with everything good, like love, grace, mercy, faith, faithfulness, obedience, and perseverance, and if we keep walking with Him and developing those traits, we’ll grow in Him and become more and more able to carry out His will. May your confidence in the hope of God’s glory—and the peace that comes with it—be steadfast and strong. May the purpose for which God created you be fulfilled, and may you grow to be all that He intended. From A Family Advent © 2008 by Thomas Nelson, Inc. Used by permission. All rights reserved.
