Finding Real Peace

Finding Real PeaceChrist Himself is our peace.  —Ephesians 2:14 NCV

Some say they have experienced a peace that passes all understanding, but the peace of most is constantly being disrupted by negative thoughts, bad news, frightening medical reports, lack of financial stability, wayward children, unfaithful spouses, conditional love, quarrels and fights, crime, wars and rumors of wars, changes in circumstances—the list goes on into next week.

There is no way to avoid some of life’s scary situations. God doesn’t guarantee that the storms will go around us. Rather, he promises to be in control of every storm. Understanding that with your heart, not just your head, makes the difference. Remember:

  • Peace is a direct by-product of faith in Christ.  You will not find peace in anything at all, except faith in the peace giver. He promises to make a way for you to regain peace in the midst of tribulation.
  • Life in the present. A lot of worries are about “what ifs.” Choose to focus on how he’s providing for you right now.
  • Meditate on God’s promises. Take all your requests to him with a thankful heart and leave them there.

When God promises peace, Sister, he means peace! Take him at his word!
