LAMENTATIONS: Consequences and Promises

lamentationsThe ravages of sin and disobedience are drastic. Such is the story of Lamentations. Jeremiah had given the warnings, and his words went unheeded. Now he is the one to recount the destruction that was the natural result of people ignoring God and His Word.

Jeremiah was faithful to tell of the people who suffered the effect of their sinful ways. It was too late for them, but God in His grace gives us this lesson to help us know a lifestyle apart from the commands of God leaves us destitute and lost.

Even in this context, one of God’s best promises is found in Lamentations 3:22, 23: “The Lord’s . . . compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”

I am grateful for God’s new mercy. I am in my 60`s & struggling with a sin that I Really want to stop. I stop for a few days & then pick it up again. It is so important for me to know that each morning I receive NNEW mercy from my Father.

Wake up people of the United States of America. We have gone so far away from God in this country that we know what is going on in all those reality shows and than God word. It is shameful, that our kids can quote to us all about Harry Potter but they can not quote much about God. This country was a God based Country. If we want to succeed as a Country we need to return to the roots in which this country was formed. I still believe in the Bible and the Constitution of the United States of America and we need to know that out leaders who are swearing an oath to uphold that Constitution that they know what it actually says and I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE TO TAKE A TEST AND PASS WITH A 98% before they can run for office especially as senitors, congressman, and the president and vice president, and for sure if you are going to serve on the courts as a Judge. We need to turn Back to God and start loving this country to try to fix what some misguided people have tried to distroy.

We are all sinners. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. All he asks is repent. But we should not take advantage of forgiveness. We cannot sin over and over and expect to receive forgiveness. When we talk to the Father, pray with sincerity and discernment.

  5. People know of GOD want to live their lives however they choose then on Sunday put on a front don’t they know that their SIN’s will not go unpunished. Because the consequences don’t come immediately doesn’t mean that there getting away with the sin. I believe GOD’S MERCY but we continue to live however we choose thinking because we have not felt the wrath of GOD we have gotten away with something. JESUS is The same GOD he give us chance after chance but we ignore the signs GOD give.
