Memories and More: A Conversation with Kari Jobe

December 9, 2013

When it comes to Christmas memories, Kari Jobe has a favorite:  “…the year we made a bunch of to-go lunches and partnered with a ministry that serves the homeless downtown in Fort Worth. We went and dropped off the lunches for the homeless people on Christmas Day. We put a gift in all of them: gloves. It was a real cold day that day so we threw gloves in all of them.”

What made that experience so special? “It was just cool to think of others on Christmas Day and not just ourselves; not just our own gifts we were opening. It’s not about that: it’s about Jesus and being Jesus to people. I think that’s something He would have done if He were here today.”

Kari also has special memories from her experience on the Believe God Can Do Anything tour. “I loved it,” she said in a recent interview with Women of Faith. “I just loved hearing those women worship Jesus with everything they had . . . the sound of worship from women who were trusting God. You could tell women showed up with faith to believe God could do anything. What an honor it was to lead them in worship this year. Such strong, strong worship moments I had on that tour that I will never forget.”

Kari is looking forward to making new memories when she joins Women of Faith again for Unwrap the Bible in February. “Women are really—I can tell—getting more hungry for the Word. When we can say ‘this is what the Word of God says and this doesn’t change’ it’s powerful for women to be equipped like that. I’m trying to be a lot more disciplined about picking up the Word and filling my mind with the Word. I find that the Lord wants us to be equipped for what He has called us to. There’s nothing better than knowing what He says in His Word and following that. We’re going to Unwrap the Bible like nobody has ever seen!” (Learn more about Unwrap the Bible.)
