Don’t Just Stand There . . . Pray Something!

I learned this practical prayer principle from Ron Dunn’s book with that title. Here at Women of Faith we are not just planning and programming, we are PRAYING for God to move in great and unprecedented ways at the From Survival to Revival
events that will take place in 20 cities this year.
Anytime there has been a major move and stirring of God (as seen in His Word and even throughout history) it was preceded by people praying. I know in my own life I am meeting more and more women across the country who are desperate for God to doing something HUGE! I sense there is somewhat of a holy dissatisfaction with “the way things are.” I sense a deeper desire to be a part of something spiritually significant in our country.
There is a little phrase going around these days—perhaps you have heard it; perhaps you’ve even said it today: “It is what it is!” Well, I’m not a fan. Although (I guess) there is truth in that statement, it drives me crazy. I don’t want “it” to be what “it is,” I want “it” to be different than what “it is!” And I know this: prayer can change “it!”
Will you join Women of Faith in prayer and help us change things? We are raising prayer support in very practical ways and building strong prayer teams in our twenty event cities and surrounding areas. We would LOVE and greatly appreciate your partnership in prayer.
Here are some things we are very excited about and would love for you to be a part of:
NOTE: For information on how you can get involved with any or all of these prayer initiatives, contact Debbie; her email address is below.
- City Prayer Teams. Join your city prayer team! We still need City Prayer Leaders for Kansas City, Philadelphia, Hartford and Portland.
- Prayer Walks. Taking place at the event arenas and in some surrounding cities.
- Prayer Bracelets. A wearable reminder for City Prayer Team members to pray daily that the Lord would bring revival and for Women of Faith as we prepare for From Survival to Revival.
- Prayer Rooms. Available at each Women of Faith event; volunteer opportunities available.
The Bible tells us in Matthew 18:19 – “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” (NIV) Would you agree with us that we want the Lord to move in mighty ways in our cities?
“Whenever God determines to do a great thing, He first sets His people to pray.” —Charles Spurgeon
