Don’t Just Stand There . . . Pray Something!

ADreamFullfilledI learned this practical prayer principle from Ron Dunn’s book with that title. Here at Women of Faith we are not just planning and programming, we are PRAYING for God to move in great and unprecedented ways at the From Survival to Revival events that will take place in 20 cities this year.

Anytime there has been a major move and stirring of God (as seen in His Word and even throughout history) it was preceded by people praying. I know in my own life I am meeting more and more women across the country who are desperate for God to doing something HUGE! I sense there is somewhat of a holy dissatisfaction with “the way things are.” I sense a deeper desire to be a part of something spiritually significant in our country.

There is a little phrase going around these days—perhaps you have heard it; perhaps you’ve even said it today: “It is what it is!” Well, I’m not a fan.   Although (I guess) there is truth in that statement, it drives me crazy. I don’t want “it” to be what “it is,” I want “it” to be different than what “it is!” And I know this: prayer can change “it!”

Will you join Women of Faith in prayer and help us change things? We are raising prayer support in very practical ways and building strong prayer teams in our twenty event cities and surrounding areas. We would LOVE and greatly appreciate your partnership in prayer.

Here are some things we are very excited about and would love for you to be a part of:

  • City Prayer Teams. Join your city prayer team! We still need City Prayer Leaders for Kansas City, Philadelphia, Hartford and Portland.
  • Prayer Walks. Taking place at the event arenas and in some surrounding cities.
  • Prayer Bracelets. A wearable reminder for City Prayer Team members to pray daily that the Lord would bring revival and for Women of Faith as we prepare for From Survival to Revival.
  • Prayer Rooms. Available at each Women of Faith event; volunteer opportunities available.

NOTE: For information on how you can get involved with any or all of these prayer initiatives, contact Debbie; her email address is below.

The Bible tells us in Matthew 18:19 – “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” (NIV) Would you agree with us that we want the Lord to move in mighty ways in our cities?

“Whenever God determines to do a great thing, He first sets His people to pray.” —Charles Spurgeon

  1. Praying alongside you. Lord, you want our communities, cities, nation — even more than we do. Please touch lives, heal families, open doors for ministry. Stir us with love for our neighbors, coworkers, people we see when out and about. Lead us in your ways, help us hear your voice, make our hearts beat with yours for people. Anoint your Women of Faith girls and everyone involved in the ministry with power and fresh filling of the Spirit. Be glorified, Father!

I am already praying daily for Sacramento to open its arms in Nov for WOF! I can’t wait to see how God is going to sweep through our community and change lives through WOF!!!!

  3. I need prayer to find a place to live by tomorrow. I have no income or family and churches cant help either. Don’t know what to do. I don’t even have enough money to rent something off Craig’s list, put up flyers offering to be a companion to an elderly person in exchange for free room and board. I don’t know what to do, I am in my 50′s and I should be able to thinking about retiring in awhile, not this.

  5. Father God, I pray you will move in a mighty way; a way that will make your people stand up and notice that you are still in the miracle working business. Bless all the leaders and workers involved in these events and keep them encouraged. Amen
