In 1998, following a 25-year business career in corporate America (including president and CEO of Lenox, the gift and tableware company, and president and CEO of Parker Brothers Games), Rich joined World Vision, one of the largest relief and development organizations in the world. As President of World Vision U.S., Rich guided the organization to unprecedented growth and called on the church in America to respond to the global AIDS pandemic. Established in 1950, World Vision has more than 45,000 staff serving children and families affected by poverty and injustice in nearly 100 countries. Rich and his wife, Reneé, have five grown children and one grandchild.
Rich chronicles his journey from corporate CEO to advocate for the poor in The Hole in Our Gospel—named 2010 Christian Book of the Year by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association. Unfinished: Believing is only the Beginning, Rich’s second book, was released spring 2013. Rich holds a B.S. degree from Cornell University and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Rich currently serves as a trustee for Seattle Pacific University.
