We all need breathing space from our routines, relatives, and other relationships. But here's my biggest struggle: how to get away from me. I often get on my own nerves. When I start to gripe at myself, I sometimes head for the beauty parlor, maybe because it's such a girly thing to do. Of course I enjoy the personal attention and usually the results. Besides, it gives me a mini breathing space.
I think every woman should have a lost-in-space place. It needs to be something you do and somewhere you go that not only pleases your senses but also results in satisfaction. What a reprieve for our emotions to have something to look forward to in the midst of the hustle and bustle, even if it's just to take a few moments to flip through the pages of a home magazine or to sink into the wonder of a well-woven tale. After a few pages of walking around in someone else's fiction, our reality seems easier to face.
After a good read I seem to breathe easier. Last week to unplug I went for my first professional facial, which had to have been invented by angels on a sabbatical. It was heavenly.

Remember the TV show Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman? If you enjoyed that, you'll love Tamera Alexander's novel The Inheritance. Like Dr. Quinn, McKenna Ashford is a woman working at a "man's job" (though in McKenna's case she does it secretly). Join McKenna and her rebellious younger brother as they try to make a fresh start in Colorado Territory, where things aren't always what they seem. There's plenty of romance—U.S. Marshal Wyatt Caradon takes care of that. And the prayer Wyatt prays may just become your own heart's cry. Read more about The Inheritance here. |

Red Swan & The Revolve Tour
"Thank you for introducing us to RED SWAN at the San Jose Women of Faith event. It has only been a week and I have already received a check from them. YEA! Now I can book and pay for my daughter and I to go to the Revolve Tour in Sacramento. The Red Swan money will pay most of the ticket. All I will have to pay is the hotel."
"I would like to use Red Swan to raise money to send a group of teenage girls to the Revolve Tour this year. How do I get more boxes?"
