IDENTITY- LOVE OTHERS
So to love others, like Jesus did, we have to treat others like Jesus did love them even when they're unlovable, serve them, when they don't seem to deserve or appreciate that forgive them because you have been forgiven, build them up for the gifts that they have, not the gifts that you wish they had, you know, with our kids, maybe we wish that they were really good at this and we push them we push, instead of looking at what are the actual gifts that they have.
Encourage them in their understanding, and the walk with the Lord their walk with the Lord, if we truly believe that it's in relationship with Jesus and reconciliation to God, that we find our purpose and fulfillment and joy in this life, then we ought to encourage that in other people, not that in pleasing us, they will find their fulfillment, but in relationship and drawing close to God, God will begin helping them understand why they were created and the giftings that they have.
This is a big part of why Alita and I are sitting here today, because we want to love others as Christ has loved us. We want to share his freedom. We want to share his forgiveness, we want to say, however, you sit there today struggling with understanding your identity, which is your characteristics, all of those pieces, and also appreciating having a good self image of your identity. Having been being settled with that being hopeful and encouraged and who He created you to be. He's done that for us.
And that's why we want to help do that for you. It's not our rules. It's like it's not our plans. It is His Word and His plans and we just are delighted and encouraged to have been changed by him and hopefully help you be changed by him.
