Where are in the world are these women? Part 4
Friends, we MUST continue the venture of finding Godly friends in our lives because we are made to live in community. One of our foundational and deepest desires is for real relationships!
I have always felt the punishment of solitary confinement to be inhumane and brutal. Solitary confinement could literally make someone go mad and is one of prisons' worst punishments.
And yet, in this world, we see people voluntarily isolating themselves all the time!
We could have everything, our groceries, clothes, and prescriptions, delivered to our door if we wanted. We don’t even need to leave home if we work from home!
This world has created an opportunity to isolate ourselves completely. And the enemy loves that his scheme of separating individuals works.
Think of the film from back in 2000, Cast Away with Tom Hanks. Hanks plays a FedEx employee who gets stranded on an uninhabited island after his plane crashes in the South Pacific. He attempts to survive, find a way home, and find a friend in the meantime. Hanks cuts his hand, gets angry, and throws a Wilson volleyball. His bloody handprint creates a face from the smeared blood and names the ball Wilson. Wilson becomes his best and only friend.
After four years, Hanks sets sail back to civilization and his only companion, Wilson, falls off the raft and Hanks is absolutely devastated. Why? Because it was his only friend!
The reality is that relationships are SO vital that when there is a lack of relationships, we are willing to create and fall for the counterfeit.
This is what the devil is banking on, a life with a false reality. But Jesus says in John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Jesus only wants to give you LIFE, LIFE, AND MORE LIFE!
Jesus offers us the REAL life, with REAL relationships…not the counterfeit.
The opportunity of genuine, vulnerable, close relationships only increases as each individual becomes closer to Jesus.
When our friendships are built on a solid foundation of Jesus, real relationships come to life.
I am praying for you to find REAL friends because Jesus wants to give you REAL life.
I am wildly cheering you,
Alita
