LIVE IN THE NOW

Everyone seeks to know the future.  Are you prepared to face the present?

This is such a powerful reminder! Many chase after the future, hoping to know what’s ahead and the real challenge is being fully present—embracing what is happening right now with faith and courage.

God calls us to be present in the moment, trusting that He is with us right now, no matter what our circumstances may be. We can often become consumed by the past or anxious about the future, but God invites us to find peace and joy in the present moment.

In Matthew 6:34, Jesus tells us, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." This verse reminds us that God is faithful to provide for us today, and He doesn't want us to miss the beauty and blessings of the current moment by being overwhelmed with worry about what’s ahead.

Living in the present, with gratitude and faith, allows us to experience God's peace. In Philippians 4:6-7, it says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." This scripture encourages us to bring our concerns to God, trusting Him for today and finding peace in His presence.

Being prepared for the present means:
✅ Trusting God’s plan, even when the path isn’t clear.
✅ Facing today’s challenges with faith, rather than fear.
✅ Living with purpose, rather than being consumed by "what ifs."

So yes, enjoy the moment. Embrace today’s opportunities and trust that God is in control of your past, present, and future. He is always with you, providing guidance, love, and grace in every moment.

What is it about the present that you’re facing right now?

God calls us to live fully in the moment, trusting Him and embracing where we are. Being present means not dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, but focusing on God’s presence, His purpose, and the people around us.

God is Present, and We Should Be Too

The foundation of being present is recognizing that God Himself is always with us. When we acknowledge His presence, we can fully engage in life.

  • Exodus 3:12 – “And God said, ‘I will be with you.’”
  • Psalm 46:10 – “Be still, and know that I am God.”

➡ Being present starts with recognizing God’s presence.

Live in Today, Not in Worry About Tomorrow

Jesus directly teaches us to focus on today and trust God with the future.

  • Matthew 6:34 – “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
  • Lamentations 3:22-23 – “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning.”

➡ God provides grace for each day—so we should be fully present in it.

Let Go of the Past and Be Present in God's Plan

Holding onto regrets or past hurts keeps us from embracing what God is doing now.

  • Philippians 3:13-14 – “But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me.”
  • Isaiah 43:18-19 – “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”

➡ Being present means trusting that God is working now, not just in the past or future.

Engage with People, Not Just Distractions

God values relationships, and being present with others reflects His love.

  • James 1:19 – “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.”
  • Romans 12:10 – “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”

➡ Being present means truly listening, loving, and engaging with others.

Serve God Where You Are

Sometimes we long for a different season of life, but God calls us to be faithful where we are now.

  • Colossians 3:23 – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
  • Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”

➡ God placed you here for a purpose—be present and serve Him in this moment.

Presence is a Gift

Being present is an act of faith. It means trusting God for the future, releasing the past, and embracing what He is doing right now.

God's Heart on Living In The Now

God calls us to live fully in the present moment, trusting Him with our past, present, and future. When we live in the now, we embrace His presence, walk in His peace, and make the most of every opportunity He gives us.  God’s heart on living in the now is rooted in trust, faith, and surrender. He calls us to be present in each moment, and never burdened by the past or anxious about the future, and fully embracing His presence and purpose today.

Trusting God for Today

Jesus teaches us not to be anxious about tomorrow but to focus on the present:

In Matthew 6:34, Jesus reminds us:
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Living in the present means surrendering our worries and trusting that God is in control of our future.  God’s heart is for us to rely on Him daily, trusting that He provides for our needs moment by moment.

Acknowledging God's Presence

God is with us right now, not just in the past or future.
"Be still, and know that I am God."
—Psalm 46:10

When we slow down and acknowledge His presence, we find peace and direction for each moment.

Experiencing God's Presence Now

God is always with us, and He desires that we acknowledge Him in every moment. Psalm 118:24 says:
"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."

Every day is a gift from God, and He wants us to experience joy, gratitude, and purpose in the present.

Releasing the Past and Moving Forward

God does not want us to dwell on past mistakes or regrets. He is always doing something new in our lives:
"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!"
—Isaiah 43:18-19

We can’t change the past, but we can allow God to heal us and lead us forward.

Walking in Faith, Not Fear

Worrying about the future or dwelling in the past can keep us from fully embracing God’s plans today. Isaiah 43:18-19 encourages us:
"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?"

God is constantly working in our lives, and He wants us to have faith in what He is doing right now.

Making the Most of Every Opportunity

Every moment is a gift, and God wants us to use our time wisely.
"Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity."  Ephesians 5:15-16

Being present means appreciating the people, opportunities, and blessings God has placed in our lives right now.

God calls us to live with intention, purpose, and wisdom, making every moment count for His glory.

Surrendering Each Moment to God

We are encouraged to trust God fully with our time, decisions, and actions. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

When we surrender control and allow God to lead us, we find peace and purpose in every moment.

Walking in Peace and Contentment

God desires for us to find joy and contentment in the present, rather than always longing for the next season of life.
"I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation."  Philippians 4:12

True peace comes from trusting that God has us exactly where we need to be.

Living in the Now with God

God’s heart is for us to walk in faith, be present, and embrace His love, joy, and guidance every day. He wants us to stop striving and start trusting, knowing that He is always with us. By living in the now, we align with His plans, experience His peace, and reflect His glory in everything we do.

Living in the Present with God

To live fully in the present, we must:
✔ Trust God with our future.
✔ Let go of past burdens.
✔ Be still and embrace His presence.
✔ Make the most of today’s opportunities.
✔ Choose peace and contentment in every season.

When we do this, we align ourselves with God’s perfect timing and plan.
