Word to the Wise – Words are Powerful!
Word to the Wise – Words are Powerful! When I think of words, I think of Power.
John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The power of words began when God spoke the world into being with the power of His words. Look at the whole creation process…He created all from nothing by speaking it into existence.
That is power!
In the creation process, it is only man that He gave the power to use words. It is also through words that He communicates with us. John 1:14 says, “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”The power of the word was meant for good.
So why do we choose to misuse our most powerful asset?
Our society has become conditioned to talk about problems and misfortunes. Those problems and misfortunes that we speak are also from our own interpretation and perspective of events that have occurred. When we talk this way, we are putting those same negative thoughts out there to become a reality. You are influencing others around you with the words you say.
Are you speaking life or death into others?
We must choose our words wisely. Practice self- awareness over the words we use to describe ourself and life. God created the universe, but He also gave us the free will to create our universe. As creator of our own universe, what we say goes. Create a reality that is good!
Do you want your universe to be positive or negative?
With words, God created us in His image. God is the great I Am. When we utter the words “I am,” what are we following up that statement with? How we end that sentence defines who we are to ourself and everyone around us.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, “Do you know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.”
So, choose words bravely, consciously and lovingly. Always speak from a place of love; for yourself, for your life and for others. Your words equal your world and the world of those you influence, they are powerful, so use them wisely.
