Have I not commanded you?
Have I not commanded you?
Joshua 1:9 has become my life verse, and for a good reason. It says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
The first sentence says - Have I not commanded you? This scripture tells us that God has already been and still is telling us, repeatedly, to be strong and courageous! To not be afraid or discouraged. Because fear of circumstances, people, and things had taken hold of my life way too strongly, I had to find a verse that reminded me of Who was actually in control of my life. It isn’t me. It isn’t Satan, the enemy. I needed a verse to remind me that I have been commanded, yes, commanded by God to be strong! To be courageous! To NOT be afraid or discouraged --- ever! Because our LORD is with me wherever I go.
The second fear starts to creep back into my consciousness with whatever is going on in life, I state my life verse. It’s written on my heart, meaning I have it “ingrained in my brain,” so I don’t have to go look it up. I know precisely what Joshua 1:9 says to remind me of what I need to know. There is nothing to fear because God has got it al. I can rest in Him because He is my protector in ALL situations.
