If we think about one of our goals in our Christian faith, it is to grow up in Christ or experience SPIRITUAL STRENGTH.  

Paul talks about this in Ephesians 5:1-2. He talks about how we are to be imitators of God. And the best way to imitate someone is to say the things they say, do the things they do.

We learn to do this by following scripture with our mindset, our words, our actions. 

If we want to be like Jesus, we have the opportunity to read, study and understand the Living Word.  Be imitators of God.  

Here are a few different translations of Ephesians 5:1-2.  For me, reading different translations help me with the understanding and fullness of the scripture creating SPIRITUAL STRENGTH!  

Try it for yourself! 

Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. Ephesians 5:1-2 NLT

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.  And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. Ephesians 5:1-2 NKJV

Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn’t love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that. Ephesians 5:1-2 MSG
