Love Radically

FOCUS: Words to Prepare Your Mind

“God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

“When we know that we are loved by God, loved beyond measure, we can dive in and take a chance.” – Sheila Walsh, Imagine Devotional Journal

PUSH: Words to Influence Your Spirit
Would you consider your love for Jesus to be ‘radical love’?

Whether you feel that your love for Jesus is radical or not, know this: Jesus is radically in love with you.

Let me tell you what radical love means. It is having an all-consuming, passionate love for God—the kind of love God has for you. Do you want this radical kind of love in your life? If you do, let me tell you how to get it.

First and foremost, if you don’t have it, you have to confess that fact. Secondly, cry out to God for it in your life. And lastly, don’t give up until you get it!

The greatest demonstration of God’s radical love for us is the cross of Jesus Christ. God did the most amazing thing—something no mere human could ever bear to do. The day Jesus died on the cross, He took all of our sins away. The pain He went through for you and me was unimaginable. But, incredibly, He loved us so much that He did it. And I thank God every day forHis death on the cross so that I could have eternal life. It is amazing to think about.

So I encourage you today; if you want to live a radical life, you need to have a radical love for Jesus. Radical love results in a radical life. I don’t know about you, but I want the radical life that God has planned for me. It is extravagantand vastly different from any form of legalistic religion. When you have radical love—when you love radically, you also experience God’s peace, contentment, and true and lasting joy. More than this, you will experience freedom. Freedom is less a physical thing, and more a heart thing. Radical lives always bringthe radical love of God to a needy world, and we need it more than ever now. Wouldn’t you agree? Always remember; when you have radical love, it changes more than one life.

BREATHE: Words to Impact Your Prayers

Acknowledge and Admit:

Lord, You are the greatest example of radical love.

My love tends to be exclusive to those I deem lovable.

Appreciate and Ask:

Thank You for demonstrating Your love through the cross.

I ask You to help me know Your love better and share it with anyone and everyone.
