What’s the Hurry All About? Find True Peace

Hey There!

Have you ever asked yourself the question, what’s the hurry all about?

Really think about this for yourself. I encourage you to be gentle with yourself as you reflect on these thoughts because this is your opportunity to grow, not condemn yourself.

Have you ever hurried from one activity to the next, only to find that at the end of the day, you really only hurried to make it home to watch a movie or binge watch a show?

Or maybe this resonates more.

Have you ever hurried from one event to the next, only to ask yourself why you are filling your day with events that don’t actually align with your values, goals or beliefs?

Or maybe you can see yourself here.

Have you ever hurried through the day because you felt more important if you accomplished more than those around you?

Here is what I have found:

We live in such a fast paced world, we need to just slow down.

Isaiah 26:3 promises us this “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on You!”

I don’t know about you, but I want to keep perfect peace in my life because I trust God to set the schedule because I’m fixing my eyes on Him first!

But how do we do this? How do we “just slow down”?

I have just three quick tips to living in true peace.

#1 - As you spend time with the LORD in the morning, ask Him what is the most important for you during the day.  As He reveals them to you, jot them down and prioritize them because they matter to God!

#2 - Seek the LORD first before committing to any scheduled plans.  We are to please God first, so be sure He approves before you say yes to other people and commitments.

#3 - During your prayer time, ask God what is on your calendar that needs to be removed, either temporarily or permanently, to live in true peace.

These tips may sound simple, yet hard to implement.  With some effort and discipline, you can dial in this new practice.  I promise you it will be worth it!

When you have a God-honoring schedule, true peace will follow.
