A MARRIAGE WITH JESUS AT THE CENTER WILL LAST

Hi Friend!

"Something that just has really stuck with me about marriage is.. Here's Denisse. Here's Rashawn. Here's Jesus. That's it. As you get closer to Jesus, you come closer and closer together. So you don't have any choice. When your relationship is deep with Jesus, not just going to church on Sunday or not just saying that you're a Christian, but actually having a deep relationship with Jesus, and I know you guys are so passionate about that, it wasn't always that way. Yeah, it wasn't always that way."

I vividly remember sitting down with a friend who had been in marriage counseling.   Their marriage was, in her words, “almost dead”.  She so badly wanted to resolve their differences and move forward in the life they had planned together.

She loved him. He loved her. However, they just couldn't seem to ever come into alignment.

The one piece of advice her counselor shared really stuck with me.

Want to know what it is? It is actually VERY SIMPLE. I quickly share this piece of advice in this video that was recorded during our Women of Faith Show with Alita Reynolds.

A MARRIAGE WITH JESUS AT THE CENTER WILL LAST

Allow me to explain. Imagine a triangle.  In the bottom left corner is the wife.  In the bottom right corner is the husband. The top of the triangle is Jesus.  As each spouse comes closer to Jesus, they come closer together.  As each spouse experiences a deeper relationship with Jesus, the marriage is able to thrive!

I pray for all marriages... your marriage, my marriage, your loved ones' marriages, future marriages of my children and your children.  I pray for all marriages to reflect this triangle.  I pray as children of God approach marriage, they only seek others who want Jesus at the center of their lives as well. I pray for every spouse to care for one another in soul, body and spirit.  To love one another in a God-honoring marriage.

As we are discussing marriage, I think of the couple I was talking with during this show.  I was so inspired by the love and support we see from Rashawn towards Denisse as she pours her heart out to us about how she came to know Jesus.

As a friend of this genuine couple, the true definition of love is continually on display between them.  Also, their excitement for the LORD is contagious!  I hope you watch the entire show to learn more about them.
