Where in the world are these women?

I always wanted amazing, Godly friends who would be there for me when life was complicated and when I needed to share my heartaches. Friends who would lift my arms up when I needed it.

I asked myself: Where in the world are these women? 

I saw women who would believe for great things for one another.  I would hear stories of women praying for their friends, fervently praying with their friends for something they were believing for in their lives.  

I asked myself: Where do I find these friends? 

I longed for a friend who would simply send me a note of encouragement for no particular reason.  Maybe she just sent it because the Holy Spirit whispered to her that I needed a special gift of encouragement that day.

I asked myself: Why don’t I have this friend? 

I saw others with beautiful friendships so close, authentic, and loving. 

And I kept asking myself: Why don’t I have her in my life? 

So what did I do? I felt God showed me that if I were to have these Godly women, who are genuine, true friends, I had to BE the friend I prayed to have. 

It seems pretty basic, right? But was I doing this? Was I BEING the friend I prayed to have? 

I started by praying for God to transform me into the woman who would be the wonderful friend I was looking for in my life. (I will share what this practically looked like for me soon, stay tuned!)

I started by praying consistently for the right women to come into my life to create pleasing friendships to God, and it was a fulfilling relationship for my friend and me.  

Slowly but surely, one by one, new friendships developed in my life. However, it took intentionality, consistent prayer, molding myself to be a true friend and time for new friendships to build. (This process included some failed attempts, but we will leave this topic for another time!)

Today, after years of intentionally building solid, beautiful friendships with women of faith, God has truly blessed me beyond belief. 

Here is the deal. One of our deepest desires is for real relationships.  Friendships that are based on a solid foundation of Jesus.  With any relationship, the closer we are to Jesus, the closer our relationships are. (Let’s talk more about this soon!) 

My hope and prayer for you today is that you have AMAZING Godly friends in your life. Praise God if you do!!!!

And if you don’t have Godly friends in your life? I especially pray for you today.  I pray a spirit of boldness in you to be the friend you are praying to come into your life, that you would ask God to bring special relationships to you and cherish those friendships with all your heart.
