Breathing Through the Process: God Goals and Habits

Scripture: 1 Timothy 6:11-12 - "But you, Timothy, a man of God, run for your life from all this. Pursue a righteous life—a life of wonder, faith, love, steadiness, courtesy. Run hard and fast in the faith. Seize the eternal life, the life you were called to, the life you so fervently embraced in the presence of so many witnesses."

In our journey of faith, we often find ourselves striving to achieve our goals and make positive changes in our lives. We set resolutions, make plans, and work hard to accomplish them. However, in the midst of our efforts, we can easily lose sight of the process and become fixated on the end result. But God calls us to something greater - to breathe through the process and embrace the journey towards our God goals in doing and becoming who He designed us.

Recently during our Women of Faith Group Coaching Session, we worked through the importance of enjoying the process and thriving in every aspect of our lives. We shared insightful revelations and encouraged our community to have a Word of the Year, a guiding theme that helps us focus and align our goals with God's will. This Word of the Year serves as a reminder to breathe through the process and trust in God's guidance.

As we set our God goals for the coming year, we must remember that they are not meant to be accomplished in our own strength. We need to rely on God's grace and power to help us overcome our weaknesses and accomplish what He has called us to do. Our goals should be God-sized, stretching us beyond our comfort zones and requiring us to develop new habits and disciplines.

To achieve our God goals, we need to identify the habits that align with them. We must be willing to let go of old habits that hinder our progress and start new ones that support our growth. This requires discipline and consistency, but it is through these habits that we can thrive and live out the promised life that God has for us.

Just as the apostle Paul found strength in his weaknesses and boasted in his hardships, we too can find strength in our journey. We can take pleasure in the challenges and obstacles we face, knowing that God's power is made perfect in our weakness. It is in these moments of weakness that we can fully rely on God and experience His strength working through us.

So, as we embark on this journey of setting God goals and developing new habits, let us remember to breathe through the process. Let us trust in God's guidance and rely on His strength to accomplish what He has called us to do. May we run hard and fast in the faith, seizing eternal life and living out the promised life that God has for us.

Let’s Pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding us to breathe through the process and trust in Your guidance. Help us to set God goals that align with Your will and develop habits that support our growth. Give us the strength and discipline to overcome our weaknesses and rely on Your power. May we run hard and fast in the faith, embracing the journey towards the promise life You have for us. In Jesus' name, amen.

Reflection:

Take a moment to reflect on the goals and habits in your life. Are they aligned with God's will? Are there any habits you need to let go of or start? How can you embrace the process and trust in God's guidance as you work towards your God goals?
